This is the plant at the end of the path in the previous photo (on the left side). Datura wrightii, or Jimson Weed, has actually been blooming in our garden for a number of weeks. Beautiful -- takes desert conditions, & reseeds fairly easily. Dies back each year. Poisonous. |

This bee was having some considerable trouble getting out of the flower after she got in. The sides of the inside of the flower are very smooth and fairly steep. |
