Description:
This dogwood has broad, jade-green foliage with prominent veins. A deciduous shrubby tree, from 5' to 20' tall. It is a shade lover that has small clusters of yellowish flowers from March to April. The fruit darkens from pale green to red to black as it ripens. The Black-Fruited Dogwood prefers regular water and friable soil. It is native to stream banks in the Sierra Nevadas and North Coast ranges.
