Description:
A fast growing small tree to 30'. The Box Elder is an undemanding plant that quickly provides light shade given regular water and some sun. A native throughout the moist canyons of montane and coastal California. Its fuzz covered pale green leaves provide, if not spectacular, then reliable color in the fall before forming a soft mat beneath its spreading canopy.
