Description:
A very ornamental tree with gray-green needles and an open, airy habit, found throughout much of the state in foothill woodlands and chaparral . Fast growing to 50'. Grows easily in hot, dry locations and in poor soils. The cones are large and produce edible pine nuts. Sometimes called the Digger Pine or foothill pine.
