This selection of one of our north coast natives was made by Nevin Smith from an exposed knoll near Jenner in 1972. It will reach about 6' in height, and has a pleasant vase shape. It has bloomed freely here in the nursery both in the ground and in containers. The flowers are bright pink, borne in long racemes from February to March, and are often visited by hummingbirds. It requires part shade with only occasional water in the summer to look its best.
