Description:
A lovely perennial native to moist forests from Central California north, with delicate light green foliage and nodding heart-shaped pink flowers in spring and summer. Bleeding Heart spreads by creeping rootstocks. It is deciduous in the fall and winter. The foliage unfurls around February and flowers appear in March. Bleeding Heart is drought tolerant once established, although supplemental water will greatly extend the blooming season, often well into summer. Beautiful used around ferns and woodland perennials.
